Biography
I qualified in 1981 from Newcastle Upon Tyne Dental School and spent twelve years in General Dental Practice with a part time teaching contract in the Newcastle Dental School. I became the first dentist in Northumberland to achieve the MGDS RCS diploma. In 1992 I moved to London and took my Masters at the Eastman Dental Institute in Conservative Dentistry followed soon after by my MRD and FDS. By then I was employed part time at QMUL and part time in private practice but by 2001 I moved to full time academia. I am currently the Director of the Postgraduate Masters degree in Prosthodontics(M.Clin.Dent) and co convener of the undergraduate course in Prosthodontics. I am an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

My main interest in research is in tooth wear but currently I supervise masters projects in the accuracy of fit in the provision of prosthodontic appliances.
