Philip Taylor qualified in 1981 from Newcastle Upon Tyne Dental School and spent twelve years in General Dental Practice with a part time teaching contract in the Newcastle Dental School. He became the first dentist in Northumberland to achieve the MGDS RCS diploma. In 1992 he moved to London and took his Masters at the Eastman Dental Institute in Conservative Dentistry followed soon after by the MRD and FDS examinations. By then he was employed part time at QMUL and part time in private practice but by 2001 he moved to full time academia. He is currently the Director of the Postgraduate Prosthodontics programme. He is an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and registered Specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.
