Profile

Dr Sidhu graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, and subsequently completed an MSc in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute and her PhD at Guy's Hospital (University of London). She has worked in the health service and general practice in Singapore, as well as taught in several academic institutions (National University of Singapore, Guy's Hospital and Newcastle University) before being appointed at Queen Mary in 2007.

Her research interests have focussed on restorative materials, microscopy, interfaces as well as adhesion and she is a leading authority on glass-ionomer materials. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals.

She was awarded the presitigious Toshio Nakao Award from the International Association for Dental Research in 2001 and has been on research sabbaticals at dental schools in Australia (Adelaide University), USA (Medical College of Georgia) and Japan (Hokkaido University).

She has served twice on the Editorial Board of dentistry's highest ranking journal, the Journal of Dental Research.
