Dr Sally Weston-Price

NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow



Sally Weston-Price is a Clinical Lecturer in Adult Oral Health and Dental Public Health. She obtained her Bachelor degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) at Guys, Kings and St Thomas school of Medicine and Dentistry in 2003.  

Sally joined the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) as a Clinical Lecturer in Adult Oral Health in 2012 after eight years as a General Dental Practitioner.  

Sally undertook a Master’s degree in Dental Public Health, for which she was awarded a Distinction in 2013, and gained the Diploma in Dental Public Health (DDPH) from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013.  

Her time is now divided between her roles as Clinical Lecturer in both the Adult Oral Health and Dental Public Health departments at Bart’s and the London school of Medicine and Dentistry. She has a commitment to research with a special interest in the interface between the Internet and Oral Health related behaviour change.  


Research Interests:

Project lead on the development of a module teaching oral health education to primary school children delivered from the Web-based platform – e-Bug.  

e-Bug is an existing Public Health England Project which, through a partnership of 18 European countries, is successfully delivering educational materials regarding microbes and hygiene across several countries.

The Oral health module went live on the Internet in March 2015 and is currently undergoing evaluation to assess its acceptability and feasibility across different countries.  

Work has commenced on establishing the Oral Health education needs and attitudes of different age groups to inform the development of future modules.
