My background is in primary dental care having worked in private dental practice, community practice and, as a teacher, in a primary care outreach clinic on the Isle of Dogs, London. As a Clinical Lecturer in Primary Dental Care in addition to my clinical work I undertake research around quality improvement in primary dental practice and run the MSc in Dental Public Health.


Research Interests:

My research at QMUL is looking at ways of to improve quality around tobacco cessation advice and referrals in primary care, particularly dentistry.

I am also engaged in a DPhil in Evidence-Based Healthcare at the University of Oxford. My research there is looking at how dentists integrate various sources of evidence into their practical decision-making. The project website is
