Professor Nick Chandler from New Zealand on Research and Study Sabbatical with Professor BS Chong

We are pleased to welcome Nick Chandler, Associate Professor, Endodontic Lead and Director of Postgraduate Endodontic programmes, University of Otago, New Zealand to the Institute of Dentistry. Professor Chandler has been awarded the title of Visiting Reader and will be working with Professor BS Chong.
Professor Chandler is a specialist in endodontics and has contributed chapters to: Mineral Trioxide Aggregate: Properties and Clinical Applications, Ingle’s Endodontics and Harty’s Endodontics in Clinical Practice. His research interests are related directly to patient care and treatment outcomes. These include: the assessment of the health of the dental pulp; pulp dimensions and their clinical implications; radiography as applied to endodontics; and management of the resected root end during periapical surgery. He has published over 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals and was President of the New Zealand Section of the International Association for Dental Research. He is on the editorial boards of the Quintessence journal ENDO and the Journal of Dentistry, and is Scientific Editor of the New Zealand Dental Journal. He is also the Regional Dental Advisor, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
