Undergraduate

The five-year course leading to Bachelor of Dental Surgery is designed around integrated multidisciplinary modules, which enable students to gain the appropriate knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding of scientific and clinical principles to apply to the prevention, alleviation and treatment of oral diseases. Great emphasis is placed on the acquisition of clinical skills by working closely with teachers and by providing care for patients. Dental undergraduates may intercalate an additional year of study for the honours degree of Bachelor of Science.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate programmes of taught courses are provided in clinical and non-clinical subjects. The quality of the which was recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency with the award of the maximum score of 24. The postgraduate taught course programme is managed by the course organisers, chaired by the Senior Dental Postgraduate Tutor (Taught Courses), currently Professor Ray Croucher. There is student representation on this committee. The group organises a highly regarded and comprehensive induction programme, covering site, staff, learning and clinical resources and a core seminar programme. Small group sizes encourage close contact with course organisers.
