Paediatric Dentistry
We are an integral part of the Institute of Dentistry at Queen Mary, University of London. Paediatric Dentistry is one of four Sections of the Centre for Oral Growth and Development (others being Biophysics in Relation to Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dental Biomaterials). Our core business involves the teaching of paediatric dentistry to an average of 165 undergraduate dental students divided between 3 years of study as part of their BDS degree and 24 dental hygiene/therapy students (27 months).
We have an average of 8 Masters students (Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) Paediatric Dentistry, who follow a two-year course of study. Currently we have 4 full-time and 2 part-time PhD students co- supervised with other staff in the dental school. See: MSc Theses
Our MClinDent (Paediatric Dentistry) programme is very successful and well respected. Applications are welcome throughout the year, but final selection takes place in March of each year for a start in October. We also welcome applications for PhD programmes throughout the year, and students accepted for these can start at any time.
